About the Club
Istok is a community of Go enthusiasts in Belgrade. The name combines the Russian word "istok" (source) and the Serbian "istok" (east), emphasizing the club's Eastern theme.
Our goal is to create a place where every Go lover can find friends and opponents, communicate and develop together in the art of the game.

Founder
Sergey Novoshinsky has been playing Go for over 15 years and considers it the most fascinating board game. He has always enjoyed not only playing but also introducing people to Go.
Sergey has been living in Belgrade since March 2023. Despite many players in the city, most didn't know each other. This is how Istok was born — a place where you can find friends and opponents, and develop together in the art of the game.
